Club Championships: Rules and Regulations
The Stafford Mini Z Racers Club Championships takes place over the duration of 12 months. There will be a heat every month except for December, where the prizes are given out.
Qualifying and Race Structure
Qualifying consists of a 30 minute open track period where the lap timing system is active. During this time racers will have an opportunity to practice on the track and set lap times. After the 30 minute open session is complete racers will have approximately 10 minutes to ready themselves for the racing.
The starting grid for each race will be staggered with racers from fastest to slowest based on the qualifying results. If there are over eight racers, the race will be split into mains containing no less than four racers each.
The winner of each main (other than the A) will get an opportunity to compete in the next highest main, allowing them to potentially win the overall racing for that day.
Each race will last 10 minutes. However, some months we may have special events which may not follow the regular race format.
Scoring System
The awards are given on a scoring system that is based on points.
The points are given based on the race results. First place gets 12 points, second place gets 10 points and third place gets 8 points. Each other racer up until ninth position then gets 1 more point than the person behind them. Below is an example:
1st - 12
2nd - 10
3rd - 8
4th - 7
5th - 6
6th - 5
7th - 4
Points Drops
At the end of each season each racer will have their lowest two point scores dropped. If no racers are absent for the entire season then no point drops will take place.
Marshalling
If the race is split into mains marshalling will become compulsory for all participants of the club championship who are currently not racing, unless otherwise discussed.
